An agreement formalising closer ties between the Jordan Esports Federation (JEF) and King Hussein Business Park (KHBP) has been signed in Amman, setting out plans to stage more competitions at the site the federation already uses as its base, according to Esports Insider.

KHBP announced the agreement in a statement published on its website on Sunday. Prince Omar bin Faisal, President of the JEF, attended the signing.

The memorandum commits both organisations to running specialised competitions together on the KHBP campus, with joint responsibility for hosting the international delegations and official guests who attend those events.

The two organisations have also agreed to work together on media and marketing, to explore shared education, training and community initiatives, and to exchange knowledge and expertise. Neither side has disclosed financial terms or how long the agreement will run.

KHBP chief executive Eng. Ammar Ezzeddin linked the signing to the park's broader development aims. "This partnership builds on our ongoing efforts to create an enabling environment for institutions, initiatives and high-potential sectors, and to establish KHBP as a hub for innovation and technology," he said.

He added: "We look forward to helping the sector thrive and to hosting more tournaments and events that put Jordanian talent in the spotlight and raise the Kingdom's profile in this field."

JEF vice president Hazem Bawab framed the agreement around competitive standards and grassroots development. "This partnership is a significant step in our drive to develop the esports industry in Jordan and elevate the standard of local, regional and international competitions and activities," he said.

Bawab continued: "We look forward to drawing on the setup and capabilities that KHBP offers to scale our work, nurture young talent and launch joint programmes that help the industry grow and encourage greater participation."

The MoU puts an official framework around a relationship that already runs deep. Esports Insider cites reporting from The Esports Radar confirming that the JEF, which holds government recognition as Jordan's esports regulator, is headquartered at the West Amman park.

Much of that activity centres on THE ARC, the arena and gaming dome housed within KHBP. According to The Esports Radar's reporting, past events staged there include the fourth edition of the Arab Esports League, a Women's Esports Championship, and Red Bull Login, which also served as Jordan's national final stage for Dota 2 and Counter-Strike 2.

THE ARC additionally functions as an incubation centre, backed by the federation alongside Jordan's Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, running training camps aimed at players working towards professional careers.

KHBP's pull as an esports investment site predates this agreement. Esports Insider notes that lounge operator True Gamers announced plans in 2024 for an esports venue at the business park, with its chief product officer publicly thanking the JEF and Prince Omar at the time.

The announcement also lands as regional industry attention turns to the Jordanian capital. PocketGamer.biz has pointed out that Pocket Gamer Connects Jordan runs on 7 and 8 November, drawing games industry stakeholders from across the region to Amman this week.
