Yandex book upper-bracket final spot after bruising PARIVISION series

Team Yandex have moved within two series of a third consecutive Dota 2 title after beating PARIVISION 2-1 in the PARI Universe upper-bracket semifinal on 29 October, according to Esports.net News.

The result sends PARIVISION, who finished as runners-up at The International 2026, into the lower bracket, while Yandex advance to face GamerLegion in the upper-bracket final.

The series was far from one-sided. PARIVISION took the second game emphatically, outscoring Yandex 25 kills to one, with Yandex conceding the map inside 16 minutes, Esports.net reported.

Offlaner ATF steadied the series for Yandex, finishing 13/2/7 on Timbersaw with 40,000 hero damage as his side closed out the decider.

The win continues a near-perfect run through the group stage, where Yandex topped Group A with a 4-0 series record and an 8-1 map difference.

GamerLegion reached the other upper-bracket semifinal by sweeping OG without dropping a map, a result Hotspawn described as the North American side's best international showing, per Esports.net.

That sets up a final between a Yandex side chasing a third straight event win and a GamerLegion team playing the role of underdog on the biggest stage it has reached.

Yandex's recent form underlines the scale of the task facing both remaining opponents. They opened the 2026-27 season by winning PGL Wallachia Season 9 in ATF's debut, taking $300,000 from a $1 million prize pool at an event GosuGamers rated Tier 2 due to the absence of several top sides.

They followed that by beating Team Spirit 3-1 in the BLAST Slam VIII grand final in Malta on 11 October, a title worth $270,000 split between players and the organisation.

PARI Universe itself carries Tier 1 status as the second such event of the season, with ten teams competing for a champion's purse of $125,000.

Team Spirit's path through the bracket has been considerably harder. The TI 2026 champions, who beat PARIVISION 3-2 in the Shanghai grand final on 23 August, were knocked into the lower bracket by OG in their own upper-bracket quarterfinal, Esports.gg reported.

Spirit won the opening game behind Illya 'Yatoro' Mulyarchuk's Kez before OG completed a reverse sweep. Esports.gg detailed how Topias 'Topson' Taavitsainen's Magnus, picked for Game 2, produced a string of Reverse Polarity and Skewer plays that turned the tie, with Spirit also hurt by an Oracle-into-Terrorblade matchup that favoured OG in the late game.

Spirit responded in the lower bracket by sweeping LEGION, with Yatoro again central to the win on Kez, finishing 13/2/8 in the first game and 17/4/9 in the second.

That victory eliminated LEGION and sets up a lower-bracket meeting between Spirit and PARIVISION, a rematch of August's International grand final now played out in elimination conditions at PARI Universe.
