DJ Sona's Firestarter skin arrives, but only as a pricey Mythic Variant

Riot Games has revealed DJ Sona Ultimate Remix, the long-requested Firestarter-themed cosmetic, but it lands as a gacha-style Mythic Variant rather than a standard skin.

Riot Games has shown the first look at DJ Sona Ultimate Remix, a new Mythic Variant built around the Firestarter theme that League of Legends fans have been asking for, according to Esports.gg News.

The skin is set to arrive in Patch 26.23, scheduled for 18 November 2026. It will be obtainable through a limited-time banner in the Sanctum rather than a direct purchase.

This is understood to be the first time Riot has released a Mythic Variant for an Ultimate skin specifically, rather than a standard release, according to Esports.gg News.

That distribution method follows a loot-style pull system: the base pull rate for the Mythic Variant is 0.5%, with a guarantee built in after 40 pulls.

For players with the worst luck, that guarantee translates to spending 16,000 RP, which Esports.gg News estimates at roughly $135, to secure the skin outright.

DJ Sona Ultimate Remix keeps the three-form structure of the original DJ Sona skin, but swaps out the Concussive and Ethereal identities for K/DA and True Damage versions instead.

Her default splash art uses yellow, a colour scheme DJ Sona has not previously worn in any of her existing forms.

The K/DA form leans into the Firestarter aesthetic directly, outfitting Sona in an angular-shaded look tied to that in-universe group's styling.

Her third form draws on True Damage's established cool blue and purple palette, giving the skin a visual range across all three identities rather than a single fixed theme.

One notable gap in the current PBE preview is music. None of the expected tracks are present yet, including FIRESTARTER or GIRLS for the K/DA form, or GIANTS and Know My Name for the True Damage form.

That absence may simply reflect the early state of the preview build, though fans have separately been pushing Riot to fix long-standing music bugs affecting the base DJ Sona skin, according to Esports.gg News.

The skin will remain on PBE for two weeks, giving Riot a short window to gather feedback and make changes before a live release. Players with PBE access are being directed to the official LeaguePBE subreddit to submit their impressions during that period.
