FalleN hails Boombl4's innovation as FURIA down BETBOOM in Bucharest

FURIA eliminated BETBOOM from PGL Masters Bucharest with a 2-0 quarter-final win on Dust2 and Cache, extending a run of good form that began with their Thunderpick World Championship title, according to HLTV.

Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo singled out BETBOOM's in-game leader for praise afterwards, telling HLTV: "I like the way Boombl4 thinks about the game."

The Brazilian said BETBOOM's Dust2 setups bore little resemblance to anything they had shown previously, adding that Boombl4 "was able to really bring something new to the table."

FalleN described the Dust2 map as close, saying FURIA had a chance to close it out earlier before BETBOOM produced what he called "an insane comeback, very respectable," forcing FURIA to re-examine their flashes and CT-side answers to long-range pops.

FURIA still closed out the map on the CT side, a half FalleN rated highly, citing a 1v2 clutch from Mareks that he described as "ridiculous" and "very well played."

On Cache, FalleN said the first half stayed tense before FURIA's second half opened up, with BETBOOM searching for an answer on the CT side that never arrived.

FalleN noted FURIA have now beaten BETBOOM four times in a row, including a best-of-five final he called the most intense series FURIA have played this season, one BETBOOM "could have won." He said the head-to-head record undersold how close those matches had been, pointing to BETBOOM's chances across several games and a prior 2-0 in which KSCERATO's two rounds on Ancient decided the outcome. He put part of the pattern down to luck and a possible mental hurdle for BETBOOM against FURIA specifically.

On the veto, FalleN said FURIA had expected BETBOOM to pick Ancient, a map BETBOOM play well, but BETBOOM instead opted for Cache, believing their earlier Cache loss in the Thunderpick final had been skewed by force-buys. Because FURIA had not prepared heavily for Cache, FalleN said they played a looser, more universal T-side game that produced risky plays BETBOOM were not expecting.

Asked whether FURIA's Thunderpick title had carried momentum into Bucharest, FalleN said the team had adjusted their practice schedule around match days and reached clearer conclusions on communication and set plays, adding that responsibility within the roster was now being shared more effectively.

FURIA face MOUZ next, a matchup FalleN called a genuine toss-up: "It's a difficult team to play against, but both teams have chances... It's going to be up to who can play better on the day."
